Have lived and loved and labored here,
And made of it a happy year.

The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective.

Why won't they let a year die without bringing in a new one on the instant, can't they use birth control on time? I want an interregnum. Winter Moonlight
The snow, so peaceful and serene,
caressed by the soft moonlight,
gave magical feelings to the night.

The soft blue glow,
the lovers' words that then did flow,
their lips closer and closer
until, locked in the throes
of a passionate embrace,
he decided to express his feelings,
to keep her safe.

He whispered softly,
his words like music to her ears,
"I Love You,"
and her response the same,
heard like the gentle breeze,
"And I, love you, forever."

That was the night they promised
to be together through everything,
each to care for the other when old and gray.

* David Schwartz Quote

Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success.”
David Joseph Schwartz quotes
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Remind yourself regularly that you are better than you think you are. Successful people are not superhuman. Success does not require a super-intellect. Nor is there anything mystical about success. And success doesn't based on luck. Successful people are just ordinary folks who have developed belief in themselves and what they do. Never - yes, never - sell yourself short.
David Joseph Schwartz quotes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
“How we think shows through in how we act. Attitudes are mirrors of the mind. They reflect thinking.”
David Joseph Schwartz quotes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
“Here is the basic rule for winning success. Let's mark it in the mind and remember it. The rule is: Success depends on the support of other people. The only hurdle between you and what you want to be in is the support of other people.”
David Joseph Schwartz quotes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Get the action habit - you do not need to wait until conditions are perfect.
David Joseph Schwartz quotes
----------------------------------------------------------------------

“The success combination in business is: Do what you do better... and: do more of what you do...” David Joseph Schwartz quotes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
“Do what you fear and fear disappears.”
David Joseph Schwartz quotes

----------------------------------------------------------------------
“Luck take a second look at what appears to be someone's ''good luck.'' You'll find not luck but preparation, planning, and success-producing thinking.”
David Joseph Schwartz quotes

----------------------------------------------------------------------
“Remind yourself regularly that you are better than you think you are. Successful people are not superhuman. Success does not require a super-intellect. Nor is there anything mystical about success. And success doesn't based on luck. Successful people are just ordinary folks who have developed belief in themselves and what they do. Never -- yes, never -- sell yourself short.”
David Joseph Schwartz quotes
------------------------------------------------------------------
Your mind is a "thought factory". It's a busy factory, producing countless thoughts in one day.
David Joseph Schwartz quotes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
“Think success, don't think failure. At work, in your home, substitute success thinking for failure thinking. When you face a difficult situation, think, ''I'll win,'' not ''I'll probably lose.'' When you compete with someone else, think, ''I'm equal to the best,'' not ''I'm out-classed.'' When opportunity appears, think ''I can do it,'' never ''I can't. Let the master thought ''I-will-succeed'' dominate your thinking process. Thinking success conditions your mind to create plans that produce success. Thinking failure does the exact opposite. Failure thinking conditions the mind to think other thoughts that produce failure.”
David Joseph Schwartz quotes

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death.

...one of the strongest motives that lead men to art and science is escape from everyday life with its painful crudity and hopeless dreariness, from the fetters of one's own ever-shifting desires. A finely tempered nature longs to escape from the personal life into the world of objective perception and thought.

He who joyfully marches to music rank and file, has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action. It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A human being is a part of a whole, called by us 'universe', a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts.

I want to know God's thoughts; the rest are details.
